The schools’ song cycle performed at the Sheldonian Theatre.
As Oxford Song Young Artists, Katy and duo partner Rustam Khanmurzin were part of the team delivering the 2022 Schools Programme. Working with composer and animateur John Webb, they facilitated weekly workshops at St. Frideswide Primary School, Oxford. Each class composed its own song and performed the complete song cycle in the Sheldonian Theatre.
Katy and Rustam also curated and delivered the 2022 Oxford Song Cushion Concerts. These Halloween-themed 30–40 minute sessions combined warm-up games, music and movement, exploration and storytelling with songs by Rebecca Clarke, Schubert and Saint-Saëns. As Musicians’ Company Young Artists and award holders, they collaborated with the Merton Dementia Hub to bring songs and stories to residents. These projects are examples of Katy’s wider education and outreach work, alongside individual and group coaching.
